Firm Profile

In 1980 Hugh McIntyre shifted to Alexandra from Invercargill and became a partner in the local branch of the national firm Spicer & Oppenheim in 1981.

Having spent a number of years in the firm Hugh decided to do things his own way and established his own accounting practice in 1994. He has built up a group of loyal clients over that time, and celebrated 25 years of partnership with many clients over the past few years. During that time he always strived to help his clients achieve what they wanted to.

Over the years, the firm has changed names and offices (although always in Alexandra).

In 2004 George Flannery joined Hugh’s firm and quickly assumed responsibility for a number of clients. George’s hard work and dedication has been rewarded and on 1 January 2010 he became a joint owner of the firm with Hugh.

From April 2011, Mark Tait joined Hugh and George in the practice as a Partner/Director.  Mark has specialised tax knowledge and a varied professional background making him a valuable member of the MFT team.

In addition to the owners, there is a group of long serving staff, three of whom have been with the firm for more than 15 years.
